Half-filled quantum Hall problem on the cylinder, DMRG and composite fermions

April 22, 2021
Abstract
Yuriel Núñez Fernández - Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique (CEA) We apply the zero-site DMRG technique to solve the quantum Hall problem for an open cylinder, being able to solve several hundred effective fermionic sites. The effective sites are obtained by projecting to the lowest Landau level. Interesting features of the Renyi entropy are obtained, which are in agreement with prediction emerging from the side of composite fermions. Also, we reproduce previous results for the density-density correlation in momentum space. Some cases of doped systems are also studied.
