A brief introduction to Virtual Element Methods

Abstract
The talk will briefly recall the basic features of Virtual Element Spaces, with different types of conformity: H1, H(div), H(curl), etc., together with their Serendipity variants. Special constructions (for incompressible fluids or for Hellinger-Reissner formulations of Elasticity) will also be mentioned, together with some hints on the actual applications.
