Goal for this lecture: a.) Discuss the difference between the cohomology of compact and noncompact symmetric spaces. b.) Explain a construction some additional harmonic forms representing nontrivial classes in H^*(ΓsX) for noncompact locally symmetric spaces related to ”cusps”.
